Went to watch Kumar The Queen yesterday with Joanne even though it was rated M18. I'm still quite.. surprised that we managed to smoke our way through, from collecting the tickets to getting through to our seats. NO ONE QUESTIONED OUR AGE!
Anyway, I just have to say that it was quite a mediocre performance. However, I really liked the elaborate costumes that Kumar wore. The hot pink dress with OMG stilettos, Curse of the Golden Flower golden robe, bright red boots paired with a trench coat and many more.
But the funny factor? Ummm... it was predictable and I swore, I yawned up to probably 5 times throughout the 2 hour show.
It was mainly about Kumar wanting to conquer the world and poking fun of the funny habits of Singaporeans, comparing Singapore with whatever country he was in. It was more like a musical since there were plenty of songs and lip syncing around with intricate props here and there.

That being said however, I thought the song was listenable, something that I can hear anytime on the radio although I rarely tune in to the radio unless I'm in the car or something. I've got to give her credits for sticking to her guns though, going through a whole lot of bullshit to produce her album, My December. TEAM KELLY!
