Know the recent Myanmar shit that's going around?
I feel super unjustified for the monks that are protesting for the unfairness that has been going on for decades.
Those soldiers clearly know that these monks cannot and will never ever fight back because Buddhism is a peace-loving religion that would want to avoid conflicts and are against violence, yet, these soldiers just do what they do, without holding back.
It's a very sad thing to read all these violence that's happening around our region, especially when we ourselves feel that the Yangon people deserve better.
They have to scrimp and save. I doubt that protesting was ever on their mind because they just want to get by just for that day, as if protesting would do any help to aid their misery in making enough money to live comfortably.
Having said that, it seems that these people have to take desperate measures, to make a stand telling that bastard Gen. Than Shwe to just fuck off and that they had enough of his ways of robbing the poor.
In this photo made from video released Friday Sept. 28, 2007, by the Democratic Voice of Burma, showing a Japanese journalist as he lays in the street after being shot during a protest in Rangoon, Myanmar, on Thursday Sept. 27, 2007. The Japanese journalist identified as Kenji Nagai died from his wounds, and is seen in the video falling to the street as anti-government demonstrators run from security forces. Filipino protesters display a wanted poster of Myanmar's military junta leader Gen. Than Shwe during a rally in support to the ongoing protest in Myanmar Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 in front of the building housing the Myanmar embassy in Manila's financial district Philippines. Soldiers with automatic rifles fired into crowds of anti-government demonstrators in Myanmar Thursday, killing at least nine people in the bloodiest day in more than a month of protests demanding an end to military rule. I hope that Gen Than will just wake up his damn idea that it's time for him to stop taking more from his people when they are already struggling to put food on their table. If he can afford that luxurious wedding celebration for his daughter where she was seen wearing J.Lo's style bling and received golden prezzies worth of $74m, surely he can help fork out the money to pay for the increase of the oil price?
Butterflies flutter. So does mine.
